| Basic Requirements of Associates If the description above sounds like you then here are the specifics we
are looking for:
- A demonstrable knowledge of the event or topic you would like to develop as an
Associate. This might be an existing site topic, or something new you feel should be
covered. It could also be a geographic coverage of a wider range of topics e.g. later life
in Berkshire.
- A commitment to keep your topic page(s) up to date with regular updates. Material should
include latest news and views, introduction to the subject, coverage of the subject on and
off the web, checklists, hints and tips, information and sources of assistance. It must
also cater specifically for people new to the topic and can optionally have a section for
the more experienced. We are also looking for a chatty but professional style to make the
site both enjoyable and of high value to visit. Whatever the topic it must be geared
specifically to add value and enjoyment for the over 50s.
- You must also conform to existing and future site policies of laterlife.com Limited as
published from time to time.
Benefits of Associates Share in laterlifes Success
As well as hopefully being an enjoyable pastime there are potential
financial benefits to becoming an Associate. Essentially our aim is to reward Associates
on the basis of their contribution to the site. This contribution will be measured in
terms of the number of visitors to each Associates pages, links followed from the
pages, advertising or other revenues attracted to the pages and also in terms of
contribution to the site as a whole through material, improvement suggestions etc. Rewards
will be based on a combination of the success of the site as a whole and Associates
own page success.
The actual formula for this will be set from time to time by
laterlife.com Ltd, at its discretion, in order to ensure an equitable balance between
Associates e.g. include adjustments for topics of less general interest, but which never
the less contribute to the site as a whole.
The proportion of annual profits distributed between Associates in this
way will also be set at the discretion of laterlife.com Ltd on the basis of overall
Associates contribution to the business.
Associates can expect to receive a minimum 20% of net advertising and
promotion revenues attracted to their pages. Set against this are the costs of creating
the Associates Web Pages in the first place and maintenance of them.
Associates should be aware that they are entering into a speculative
activity, albeit at low entry cost (the time and effort required for their pages), with
any reward dependent on the business they attract.
Selection of Associates
Associates will be selected on the basis of a short (1-2 page)
proposal, including the ideas put forward and their knowledge and background of the topic
in question. The proposal should cover all of the following:
- The Topic, Event, Geographical Area or other item you would like to take responsibility
for
- An outline of the initial ideas you have for your pages
- Your background and personal profile
- Your specific breadth and depth of knowledge of the subject
- The typical time you would expect to give to this activity each week
- Details of how to contact you:
- Email
- Fax
- Telephone (with details of time we can call)
Selection will initially be for a 12 month period.
